Russian companies are switching to online working citing outbreaks of Covid-19 to avoid army pressgangs, according to several multinational companies based in Moscow, despite the state celebrations to mark annexing four regions – nearly a fifth of Ukraine – which supposedly voted to become part of Russia forever.
HR departments say the military police are turning up and insisting they hand out draft papers to employees. In one instance they were locked out and told to “f…k off” and in another, male employees were locked in cupboards and bathrooms, according to staff Tweets. Now staff throughout Mosciw are being told to stay away from their offices.
