This is a London Guardian “Long Read” portrait of the runaway Ukrainian gas billionaire Dmitry Firtash (right) and his cosy relationship with the British state. Inter alia it describes how, with prime minister Boris Johnson’s help, he hijacked a project for a disused London Tube London and added it to his ballooning property portfolio.
It adds some depth to the ignominious story of dirty money and the London “laundromat”, where it is washed clean, the subject of author Oliver Burrough’s latest book, Butler to the World.
