The AEJ fully supports and endorses the Message and Appeal to Free Turkish journalists issued today by AEJ Vice-President Dogan Tilic.
Journalists are urged to sign the e-card addressed to Turkey’s Prime Minister Erdogan.
In the face of the latest detentions of journalists and the widespread and growing violations of Turkey’s formal commitment to protect free expression the AEJ urges the Council of Europe, the European Union and other organisations to insist that the Turkish authorities end all forms of harassment of journalists and comply with their international commitments at once.
