The Austrian writer Peter Handke got the nobel prize for literature. But we should not forget that he praised Serbian war criminals like Slobodan Milosevic and Radovan Karadzic. And he attacked journalists who reported about war crimes like in Srebrenica as “dogs of war” (Kriegshunde). He even spoke at the funeral of Milosevic in Belgrade. We should not forget this. But we should also acknowledge that he wrote a lot of good books. The Bosnian author Miljenko Jergovic found the right words:
