Greece: A critical assessment of the forced closure of ERT, the Hellenic Public Broadcasting Corporation

The ERT headquarters building in Athens was cleared by riot police on 7 November as part of the government’s attempt to replace the old public broadcasting system with a new and very different one.   Katharine Sarikakis writes   that the Greek government has acted beyond its proper authority and may be in violation of its obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights.
