In the afternoon of 30 June, AEJ Belgium organised a double seminar for the members of the Executive Committee. The seminar took place in the elegant premises of the Bureau de Liaison Bruxelles et l’Europe in Brussels.
The first part of the seminar, presented by Dr. Irene van Geest, Communication Director of EFSA (European Food Safety Agency, Parma), was entitled One message, different voices: communication on food safety issues in Europe and the role of the media.
Implications for journalists of European Commission’s Plan D and White Paper on Communication and Democracy was the subject for the 2nd part of the afternoon. Speakers were Willy Helin (the European Commission’s Representative in Belgium) and Marc Paoloni (Vice-President of API, Association de la Presse Internationale). The event was chaired by Michel Theys, AEJ Belgium’s President.
The seminar was followed by drinks and a buffet supplied by the famous Irish butcher in Brussels, Jack O’Shea.
