GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND ANNUAL CONFERENCE 16/17/18/19 SEPTEMBER 2021
The AEJ is delighted to announce that our indefatigable Greek Section has completed preparations for our 2021 General Assembly and Annual Conference on 16 – 19 September, taking place in the bicentennial jubilee year of the beginning of the Greek War of Independence. After the long hiatus of the pandemic, we will at last be able to meet and debate face to face, and some meet for the first time. We hope then to include our newly-enlarged Albanian Section (25 new members recruited a few days ago) and a renewed Ukranian Section.
The itinerary will be in two locations in the beautiful Central Region. Please don’t forget Covid vaccinations and early bookings of flights + just in case, travel insurance.
Wednesday, September 15
Arrival of delegations at Athens Airport “El. Venizelos”
Transfer by bus (two groups: one noon, one afternoon) and transfer to the hotel in Arachova
Welcome by the President – briefing on the programme.
Light dinner
Thursday, September 16
Departure for Delphi
Reception at the Museum by the Delphi Mayor and Deputy Regional Governor of Fokida, tour of the museum and the archeological site, with a light meal sponsored by the Municipality of Delphi. 
Departure for Saint Luke, guided tour and hospitality offered by the Abbot.
Departure for Distomo, reception by the Mayor at the Museum of Nazism.
Departure for Aluminum of Greece, tour and hospitality at the hostel after lunch sponsored by Mytilineos
Departure for Livadia.
Reception by the Mayor – Deputy Regional Governor of Viotia Region.
Walk to Krya and attend the play “Palligenesia” at the Open Theatre.
Friday, September 17
Check out from Arachova
General Assembly at the Chamber of Viotia
Hospitality and light lunch – city tour sponsored by the Municipality of Levadia.
Departure for Orchomenos.
Reception by the Mayor and visit to the Archaeological Park.
Via Kopaida visit to Askri in the traditional winery of Zacharias, hospitality.
Reception by the Mayor
Departure for the village square, where together with the Agri-Food Partnership of the Region of Central Greece, in the presence of Deputy Regional Governors (eg Burma, Vourdanou, President of Agri-Food, etc.) there will be a presentation and tasting.
Dinner in a traditional tavern with a small musical group, without dances, sponsored by P.E. Βοιωτίας.
Check in at hotel in Chalkida
Saturday, September 18
Conference proceedings at the Thebes Conference Center
Reception by the Mayor and a light lunch sponsored by the Municipality of Thebes.
Visit to the power plant outside Thebes
Return to the Archaeological Museum of Thebes and tour
Reception with the Regional Governor, Minister of Tourism, General Secretary of EOT, Members of Parliament, etc.
Dinner in the courtyard of the Museum
Sunday, September 19
Departure of morning flights.
The rest will visit the Archaeological Museum of Chalkida,
