The Spanish Section of the AEJ celebrated once more WPF day in Málaga, in Southern Spain, in an event organized by the UNESCO Chair at the University, directed by Communication Professor Bernardo Díaz Nosty, counting on the attendance and participation of local and university authorities, as well as hundreds of Journalism students.
The international President of the AEJ and President of the Spanish Section, Diego Carcedo, delivered a lecture on the dangers and challenges that speech freedom is facing today, seriously threatened sometimes by the-facto governments and by criminal organizations having killed some 110 journalists, and other times by those whom resort to money an the possibilities which a free world offers in order to legally reach co-property of the media, interfering in journalist’s freedom.
During the event, in which a tribute to killed journalists was paid, local authorities answered to all sort of questions of 180 students from three high schools. The initiative, a whole success, gathered a great number of neighbours and appeared in several media.
