This week members of the Association of European Journalists in the UK and across Europe remember our former colleague, the Belarus journalist Andrei Aliaksandrau.

Five years after his arrest and imprisonment on 12 January 2021, following large-scale protests against the oppressive Lukashenko government, the AEJ calls again for Andre to be freed unconditionally.
Andrei continues to embody the courage and determination of many champions of free speech and fundamental human rights in Belarus who have suffered harshly for their convictions.
