A written statement submitted on Tuesday to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva ahead of its June session describes the continuing deterioration of freedom of expression and rule of law in Turkey, and calls for urgent remedies including the freeing of jailed journalists and an end to the state of emergency.
The formal statement is in the name of Reporters Without Borders, PEN International and four other human rights organisations. The AEJ is among the named press freedom organisations without consultative status which share the views expressed in the Statement. The full text is here.
