🏆 AEJ France – Louise Weiss Prize for European Journalism

The Louise Weiss Prize for European Journalism, organized by the French section of the Association of European Journalists (AEJ France), honors outstanding reporting on European affairs. Named after the renowned journalist and European advocate Louise Weiss, the award recognizes both experienced and young journalists who contribute to raising public awareness of European issues.


🏅 2010/2011 Winners

The jury’s selection for the 2010/2011 Louise Weiss Prize honored the following journalists for their excellence in European journalism:

🏆 Senior Category

  • Blaise Gauquelin – for his investigative report “Les tueurs du Président Kadyrov” (The Assassins of President Kadyrov), published by L’Express.

🏆 The 5th Louise Weiss Prize Ceremony

The 5th edition of the Louise Weiss Prize was marked by an inspiring speech from Jean Quatremer, President of AEJ France. Although unable to attend in person due to pressing European affairs, he delivered a powerful message emphasizing the importance of quality journalism in bringing Europe closer to its citizens.


🏅 Previous Editions of the Louise Weiss Prize

2008 Award Ceremony – Presented by Bruno Le Maire

In 2008, the French Minister for European Affairs, Bruno Le Maire, personally presented the Louise Weiss Prize at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During his speech, he stressed the vital role of journalists in bridging the gap between the European Union and its citizens.

🔹 The 2008 prize was dedicated to the memory of Daniel Riot, a respected journalist and strong advocate for European journalism.

The Louise Weiss Prize for European Journalism rewards journalists who:
