An international delegation of media and human rights organisations in Turkey from November 22 to 24 exposed the alarming scale of the suppression of free and independent media in Turkey. The mission was led by the European Federation of Journalists and included two senior representatives of the AEJ. Its final report has been sent to leading personalities in the European Union, the Council of Europe and the OSCE, They are called on to act decisively to make Turkey free more than 60 journalists now jailed for their reporting and comply with Turkey’s solemn obligations to respect press freedom.
