The French Section of the AEJ has vigorously protested against attempts by Polish state TV to pressure Dorota Bawolek, Brussels correspondent of the independent Polsat TV channel, over her questioning of the latest moves by the Polish government to take political control of the country’s judiciary. The AEJ calls on the Polish government to respect the freedom of the press and demands that Polish public TV upholds its statutory duty of independence and impartiality. The AEJ also calls on the European Commisison to provide regular updates tp the media concerning the application of the formal rule of law procedure concerning Poland in connection with recent developments.
