The new AEJ president is Otmar Lahodynsky

On October 18th, AEJ-Congress in Neusiedl elected a new president: Otmar Lahodynsky (59), Austrian journalist and EU-expert, follows Eileen Dunne who became honorary president.

 

 

 

 

OTMAR LAHODYNSKY

Born 1954 in Linz/Austria. Studied at Vienna University: German and English-philology.

1977-88 Editor with „profil“-Magazine, Austria’s leading political weekly

1988-95 Correspondent in Brussels for daily „Die Presse“ covering EU and NATO

1995-1996 Deputy Editor-in-Chief of „Die Presse“, Vienna.

1997-1998 Chief of foreign desk of Viennese daily „Kurier“

Since 1999 European editor for Austrian political weekly „profil“.

Interviews among others with José M. Barroso, Angela Merkel, Jean-Claude Juncker, Ban Ki-moon, Kofi Annan, Vaclav Havel, Michail Gorbatschow, Romano Prodi, Javier Solana.

President of the „Association of European Journalists“ (AEJ)-Austrian Section (since 2001)
