AEJ vice-presidents Dogan Tilic (Turkey) and Isaia Tsaousidou (Greece) took part in an international mission to Turkey this week, with representatives of the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) and other media and civil society groups. The mission called on the Turkish authorities to free the more than 60 journalists detained and facing charges under laws which have been widely condemned as contrary to Turkey’s international commitments. The group also attended the opening of a new trial of ten journalists.
