The UN is still operating a discriminatory policy against Taiwanese journalists in spite of the UN tradition of years to celebrate World Press Freedom Day on 3 May. In a harsh letter the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) denounced this UN policy. The AEJ is on the side of the IFJ (see the resolution of the AEJ General Assembly, December 2005 in Patras) and asks the UN to give Taiwanese journalists immediately the freedom and the opportunity to cover activities of the UN and UN Agencies.
